Always love this place. Top one breakfast option in town! Came across the best cinnamon scroll this time. Soft and rich cinnamon flavored brioche topped with vanilla cream cheese! Not too sweet, just perfect!
Best (almond) croissant in town of course! š„
But really not a fan of Kougelhopf. Waaaaay too sweet but is definitely the right sugar rush for holiday season š
3.5 stars. Very popular bakery/cafe from the successful and quite trendy Sonoma chain. One of the only places open on New Year's Day so came to try it.
Margherita foccacia
Flavour: S, 8/10. Tomato and cheese were both quite mild but worked well. Basil was still noticeable
Texture: S+, 8.5/10. Bread base was soft and chewy
Value: B, 6/10. $10/slice is quite expensive
Overall: A, 7/10. Wouldn't really recommend unless you're out of options or really craving foccacia
Almond croissant
Flavour: S, 8/10. Almond filling was very nice but a little overpowered by the orange zest and cinnamon.
Texture: S, 8/10. Flaky with a soft interior though was a little collapsed so lacked some of the airiness of others I've had
Value: B, 6/10. $8
Overall: A, 7/10
Iced mocha: S, 8/10. Enjoyable balance between coffee and chocolate though a bit too much chocolate. $6.5 is a bit steep.
Loved the mushroom Croque-Monsieur. You will most likely end up buying more than you need if youāre indecisive like me cuz thereās so much variety. Definitely worth a visit!
Arguably the best croissants in Canberra. Also had their very hearty seasonal items with prosciutto and smoked salmon and that was just superb. Great atmosphere to have coffee.
Havent tried them, bought some pastries for a friend (hence the 4-star). Busy in the morning, had a line when I was there, pastries are fresh and appealing. Really wish I could sit and enjoy my own cuppa and croissant soon!
Ham cheese croissant was disappointing, as the inside was cold, while nice pastry on the outside, the cold ham was a bit ick.
Plain croissant was aesthetically pleasing, taste wise was good.
Sourdough stick eaten later was yummy, but not sure too much different from other bread sticks Iāve had.
Coffee was great.
Some staff were lovely, but most seemed over it, a couple quite surly.
Big line up that remained consistent, but moved pretty well considering.
awesome bakery.
croissants coming out of the oven throughout the day.
proTip \ just bought my bread in one of their reusable origami bread wraps. very canberra
Best bakery I've been to in Canberra with an amazing assortment of gourmet artisan goodies. Will be a returning customer for sure.
